Welcome to the McGowan Inn

One of the only lodging establishments directly on the shores of Lake Memphremagog. In 2021, the Auberge was completely rebuilt respecting the architecture of its historic community in the Eastern Townships.

The history of Georgeville is revealed upon entry through the photographs and artifacts found on the walls of the Inn. These objects were kindly loaned by the Copp's Ferry Museum, owned by Mr. Jacques Valiquette, from the Murray & William collection of the Copp's Ferry Museum and by the Georgeville Historical Society. The layout of the brand new McGowan Inn was designed by John Hay, inspired by photographs of period scenes on Lake Memphremagog and the Georgeville area.

Auberge McGowan is an example of country kindness located in the heart of the tranquility of the Eastern Townships. It is possible to arrive at the inn by boat.

Those arriving at the hostel by car must park their vehicle in the municipal parking lot at the entrance to the village, or in the Auberge parking lot next to the boat repair shop.

The McGowan Marina adjacent to the Inn offers boat launch and repair services.
