Who we are

McGowan Inn, established in Georgeville, is one of the only hotel on the shores of Lake Memphremagog. In 2021, the Inn was completely rebuilt respecting the architecture of such a historic community in the Eastern Townships.

As you enter the hotel, you’ll notice the history of Georgeville come alive through the photographs and artifacts found all throughout the Inn. These objects have been loaned free of charge by the Copp’s Ferry Museum, owned by Mr. Jacques Valiquette, from the Murray & William collection of the Copp’s Ferry Museum and by the Georgeville Historical Society. The layout of the brand-new McGowan Inn was created by designer John Hay, who took inspiration from historic photographs of Lake Memphremagog and the surrounding area of ​​Georgeville.

Enjoy a drink or a good coffee at the bar or in the living room centered around a wood-burning fireplace. The adjoining dining room and the large terrace offer a magnificent view of Lake Memphremagog. The Inn also offers a private room that can accommodate a group of 12 people for a meeting or for a private meal. The Inn has seven rooms, four of which have a balcony overlooking the lake. Each room is decorated differently, each containing a unique floor-to-ceiling historical photograph. They’re all equipped with air conditioning, WiFi and a Nespresso coffee machine. Six rooms have a very large bed (“king”). The seventh bedroom includes two twin beds and is adapted for people with reduced mobility.

McGowan Inn is an example of country friendliness located in the heart of the peaceful Eastern Townships. It’s also possible to reach the Inn by boat.

Those who drive to the Inn must park their vehicle in the municipal parking lot at the entrance to the village, or the Inn’s parking lot next to the boat repair shop.

The Marina McGowan, adjacent to the inn, offers boat launching and repair services.
